Derwent FM provides a wide range of hard and soft facilities management and student accommodation services. As well as the student accommodation and university markets, its clients come from residential, health, education and commercial sectors, as well as local and central government.
Derwent FM is part of Derby-based housing provider Derwent Living, which re-invests 75 per cent of its profits from facilities management activity into developing new properties and maintaining its existing housing stock.
To help Derwent FM to be seen as the FM partner of choice and attract new clients by raising awareness of its services in its key target sectors.
In the first few months of our campaign we secured editorial coverage in Facilities Management Journal, FM World, Premises & Facilities Management, FMX, FMUK and various regional titles, including the Yorkshire Post, theBusinessDesk.com, Derby Telegraph and York Press.
Derwent FM came to Go Publicity because of our sector experience; we had handled PR for facilities management company Operon for six years and have completed projects for several other companies in this arena too. Our work in this sector has included media relations, internal communications, product launch campaigns, organising events, social media activity and securing speaking opportunities at major industry events.
We focused on securing news and editorial features for Derwent FM in the facilities management press and also in the trade titles of its target clients´ sectors. In particular, we positioned the company as a leader in the student accommodation sector and as a pioneer for SMEs to do business with central government.
We continue to support Derwent FM with PR and the media coverage we´ve secured has helped them gain new opportunities to pitch for projects. Derwent FM has recently won a £1.65m contract with HMRC and is one of the first to benefit following new government guidelines on the way public services are outsourced. It has also won a £2m contract at the University of York with the Student Accommodation Provision Limited Liability Partnership (SAPLLP), a £1.5m contract with Alumno Developments for the University of the Arts in London and a £500,000 contract at Bourneville College.
